FULL NAME Clarisse Raine Delaney. NICKNAMES Claire, Risa. AGE Twenty-one. SEXUALITY Straight. MEMBER GROUP Student at UCLA. OCCUPATION Online editor - works from home. GRADE College junior. HEIGHT 5' 4" HAIR Naturally blonde, dyed brunette. EYES Light golden-brown. PLAY-BY Hilary Duff.
LIKES Thunder storms, rain, warm cookies, the smell of vanilla, beaches, playing dress-up in private, the smell of men's cologne, wearing men's clothing, buying pretty bras, hanging out with her sisters, feeling sexy, flirting, painting her toenails, brushing her hair, the stars, nighttime. DISLIKES Hangnails, being insulted, people insulting her family, feeling useless, burning her tongue, waiting, forgetting something, being scared, having a question that can't be answered, men who are too cocky, feeling short, being too hot, being too cold, stale food, body odor, missing people. DREAMS To own her own club, get married, have kids, etc.
OVERALL PERSONALITY Claire is extremely intelligent, gets perfect grades, and she somehow balances caring for Charlie and her studies. When she turned down Ivy League schools, though, she gained some freedom from them. UCLA is way below her IQ level; she does her homework in a flash and cares for Charlie all the time, but still has some time to herself when Sam comes around. That's when she indulges. She stands in front of the mirror to try on dresses, paints her toenails, puts on bras that no one will ever see but they're like a secret self confidence boost for her. She's responsible, level-minded, nurturing, puts Charlie above everything else in her life, but underneath it all she's still got some silly pleasures.
MOTHER Delores Delaney. FATHER Eric Delaney. SIBLINGS Autumn and Charlotte Delaney. PETS White kitten, Chiyuki (Chichi). Lives in her room. OTHER FAMILY N/A. WEALTH CLASS Upper Middle Class. HOMETOWN Here. xD
OVERALL HISTORY Clarisse Raine Delaney was born the second daughter to Eric and Delores, two years younger than Autumn. However, despite stereotypes about the middle child, she never fit them. All throughout her life, she's been the calm, responsible one that knew exactly what she wanted, even though it was changing constantly in her younger years. So, though most little girls would be devastated when their parents announced they were having a new baby, Claire was excited.
Above her schoolwork, her friends, and everything else came her family, even when she was little. She didn't go to birthday parties so that she could go to a movie instead, in her teenage years never went to a Christmas Eve party because she was more content to stay at home in front of the fire and tell stories. The fact never changed, and it only became more obvious when, when she was nine years old, her younger sister went missing.
She wasn't one of those kids that didn't understand the situation. Granted, she didn't know all the facts, but she did know that her sister was gone and no one knew where "gone" was. She did everything her little nine-year-old self could do, drawing pictures of her sister and putting up flyers, finishing her schoolwork at school so that she would have time at home to desperately try to think of where Charlie could possibly be. Even when most of the people in her life had given up on her being alive, Claire didn't, and though even at that young age she wasn't very religious, she prayed every single night just in case. In fact, even when her birthday rolled around, she ignored it, and refused to open her presents until Charlie was found nearly a month later, claiming that she could have no use for any of the stuff in there until they'd found her.
She noticed right away that her sister was different from the way she'd left them, caught on quicker than almost anyone else to her sister's other personalities - and loved her just the same. In her head, it was like having two more sisters all within Charlie, and she adored them, accepting them the moment she knew about them. Claire made it something like her mission to ensure her sister's happiness and well-being - Charlie's, Emily's, and Astrid's. On a rainy night, she would stay up all night with her and do her homework at 4 AM when it had calmed down. Her studies were second in her life, only to her sister.
Because of this, Claire never dated. She had plenty of offers but refused every single one of them, knowing that a boyfriend would take away from her ability to be there for her sister and not trusting any guy to accept Charlie the way she did. That even extended/s to Sam. Though Claire loves him to death for taking care of her baby sister, she can't help but be suspicious, and so she watches him like a hawk whenever he's around, desperately trying to assure herself that he'd never hurt her but equally terrified that she could let her guard down and see Charlie hurt.
She was the perfect scholar, 100s in every class that wasn't a 99, but she turned down the Ivy Leagues that so badly wanted her in favor of UCLA where she could stay at home and make sure Charlie was okay. To this day, she's a virgin and she's never had a boyfriend, but she doesn't mind in the slightest; she's completely content with her life. What Charlie needs, Charlie gets, and any friend who has ever so much as hinted at being anything less than perfectly at ease with her was ditched on the spot. She encourages her sister to keep going to school and does whatever she can to placate all three of her personalities with a bright smile. In her mind, there's nothing wrong with her sister - just different.
