OVERALL PERSONALITY To start, Patch is not one that likes to be confined. He has no problem being indoors, under two conditions. One, he doesn't have to stay there, he can go outside, and two, he's not there for a long period of time. He actually loves cities, as long as he's able to wander about them, diverge from the group and take his own path. But if he's forced to follow the group, one of three things will happen. One, he'll grumble for a while, but follows, unhappily and acts like a jerk. Two, he'll grumble a bit, but forget about it and follow along, trying to have as much fun as possible. And the third is that he will go off on his own anyways. The third is most likely to happen, though one or two will if he's with his friends.

The outdoors are his best friend, needless to say. He doesn't spend every waking moment there, but enjoys the feel and smell of fresh air. He'll do almost anything outside, though one of his favorites is getting lost in old glorious and historic cities and just walking around for hours. He also loves to go boating or yachting, and will jump at the chance though he may try to play it cool. In school he's a bit above average. He's rather smart, just sometimes a little lazy and spaces out on occasion. But when he chooses to or is forced, he's a tad brilliant.

His friends are close to him, though they know by now that he'll take off without warning. They've learned that if they can't reach him by cell that he's off in the mountains or Spain, or wherever his heart wants to take him. That's wound him up in a few tough situations, but nothing Patch couldn't deal with. It's taught him lot and he's sort of proud of his numerous travels.

Now we move onto girls. Patch isn't one of those people who's completely unaware of girls. He's very aware. And he's aware of how good he looks, or how 'hot' he is. But he's not quite a player. A few of his friends are, he's not quite though. He has been known to have flings on occasion, and girls are always more than willing. Patch has had girlfriends in the past, always running into the same problem: He'd take off like he normally did, but then the girls would get suspicious he was with someone else. He'd try to explain it, but it always ended the relationship. No girl has yet to domesticate Patch, but his 'wild and unruly' spirit is one thing that attracts girls to him. The money and quite attitude do the trick as well, girls always see him as a bit withdrawn and quietly hot. He instantly tries to change the subject whenever the conversation is turned to him, it makes him slightly uncomfortable.

OVERALL HISTORY

• parents met a young age and had three child, february, patch, flan. although the flood family's address is in new york city, the family spent many months abroad, whether they were rock climbing through the alps or sailing from south africa to china. patch grew up "home schooled"
  
• patch began attending private school in new york city in seventh grade and met his four best friends there. he and his best friends would not all attend the same high school, but they stayed very close in spite of this
  
• patch quickly became well known for his parents' money, his charming good looks, and his constant absence. patch attended school when he felt like it and would take of for days or weeks at a time with no one knowing where he went
  
• patch then attended the university of new york city and majored in photography. however, patch once again was rarely in class and managed to pass largely because of his family name and his charm, although he did do considerable work
  
• since he graduated four months ago, patch has been traveling cross country to do some free lance photography and ended up in santa monica, where he has decided to "stay" for as long as he feels like it

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE

Patch gave another one of his world famous shrugs when she said that they definitely hadn't met. To be honest, he met a lot of people every night when he and his friends went partying. That was, if Patch decided to go. A lot of the times he would start driving to the club, and then get distracted by something else much more exciting or have the sudden whim to go skydiving and bam, the boy was off. Honestly, to Patch, he saw no point in going clubbing day after day, or night after night I suppose. He would much rather curl up with a girl and spend the night inside, or maybe go do something fun and exotic. Patch's day depended on how he was feeling at that moment. He was never one to follow rules or do exactly what he was told, but the boy was rarely defiant. He was usually able to talk his way into what he wanted. Or a dazzling smile from him would do the trick as well. Patch felt a buzz on his leg and remembered that his cell phone was in his pocket. Drawing it out, he looked on the screen and saw a text from Jonathan. Looking back to the window of the classroom, he saw Jonathan asking what the hell he was doing. That was before Jonathan caught sight of the girl and nodded, knowingly.

Patch shook his head and explained to Lana,

Please, pay no mind to him. My friends are crazy. Jonathan in particular.

His words were soft and soothing, like always. There was a slight air of humor to his voice though that added a little something extra. And there was a deep sign of affection in his voice, and also in those ice blue eyes of his, if you looked for it. Patch liked all his friends and just couldn't imagine life without them. But now, it didn't seem so bad. At least, with Irulan here. His attention turned back to her, and what she had said. His eyes wandered over her body slowly, from the side. He agreed, he would definitely have remembered her. He replied,

Yeah, I feel like I would've remembered you too. Well, I'm glad we get the chance to meet now.

A welcoming expression was on his face now, as he shifted a little so he was turned more towards the girl that was captivating him right now. He could feel an immediate attraction towards her, which was rare and a good thing. Patch was one to go on gut feeling, and he was having a good one right now. She refused his jacket though, and his face fell a little. Never the less he shrugged once more and laid the jacket on the bench, beside him. He didn't need it now, he wasn't cold at all, and didn't mind getting a bit wet. She asked if he liked the rain, and the boy brightened a bit at the question. He gave the tiniest nod of his head and said,

Yeah. For me, it's always been this amazing cool thing. It just helps me relax, you know?
